How ReelAgree Keeps Movie-Night Votes Private While You Decide

Published August 29, 2026

Group decisions change when people can see each other's answers too early. The first strong opinion can anchor the room, and a quiet participant may choose the socially easy response instead of the honest one.

ReelAgree's core advantage is procedural: each member reacts before the group sees the useful result.

What stays hidden during a decision

Inside a ReelAgree group, a member marks a title like, pass, or seen. The group interface does not show candidate counts to a member until that member submits a decision for the title.

The product then evaluates shared support in tiers:

Groups are limited to eight active members. The app shows useful overlap rather than exposing a live running poll before someone chooses.

What becomes visible afterward

Shared results show support counts and can identify members who liked a matched title. The privacy boundary is therefore about preventing early influence, not permanently hiding every choice from the group.

Historical matches do not disappear simply because membership changes later. This preserves the result the group reached at the time.

Where the data lives

ReelAgree is not a local-only voting tool. Its Cloudflare-hosted API and database store group membership, title decisions, plans, and related service records. Invite recipients can join and vote as guests. An account is required to host groups, recover durable history across devices, transfer ownership, and enable push notifications.

The service is not described as end-to-end encrypted. Operators and contracted infrastructure providers have the technical roles described in the privacy policy. Users can export or delete account data from Settings; some anonymous historical consensus aggregates may remain after deletion.

Diagnostics are a separate choice

The manual Report a Problem flow sends the answers a user enters plus safe app, build, platform, OS, and support-screen context. It does not automatically attach screenshots, logs, files, account details, or navigation history.

Crash diagnostics are controlled separately in Settings. They are off unless the user opts in, and the configured Sentry path scrubs request bodies, tokens, invite values, names, plan notes, and catalog payloads.

Product limits

ReelAgree does not stream content and does not provide streaming-provider availability. The web app is free and available now; iOS and Android releases are still being prepared. A group with legal, workplace, health, safety, or other sensitive decision requirements should use a tool designed and audited for that risk instead.

Use ReelAgree for ordinary movie-night preferences when the group wants less social pressure during the choice. Do not treat hidden voting as anonymity, end-to-end secrecy, or a substitute for understanding the people in the group.
